What Is The Function Of The Oxygen Sensor?

Jul 15, 2024

The function of the oxygen sensor is:
1. Determine whether there is excess oxygen in the exhaust after engine combustion, convert the oxygen content into a voltage signal and transmit it to the engine computer, so that the engine can achieve closed-loop control with excess air factor as the target;
2. Ensure that the three-way catalytic converter has conversion efficiency for the three pollutants of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides in the exhaust, and convert and purify the exhaust pollutants. Oxygen sensors are used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, coal, metallurgy, papermaking, fire protection, municipal administration, medicine, automobiles, and gas emission monitoring. Oxygen sensor failures include: oxygen sensor poisoning, carbon deposition, oxygen sensor ceramic fracture, heater resistance wire burnout, oxygen sensor internal circuit disconnection
